High school career
As a student at Grandville High School in Michigan, Booker played for the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity basketball teams. After his father retired from professional basketball, Booker went to Mississippi to live with his father. It was in August 2011 when his father was appointed as an assistant coach at Moss Point High School.
Booker led his squad to a 52–32 loss against Gulfport High School in the team's sixth game of the season.
