You've grown tired of Knockout City and Destruction AllStars yet? No need to be concerned; last night's State of Play broadcast showcased Deathverse: Let it Die, a new online multiplayer action game that will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next year.
In Deathverse, the action takes place in the same alternate universe as Let It Die, the massively popular free-to-play PS4 game that launched back in 2016… though the action takes place hundreds of years later. Take a look at the trailer for more information.
This “survival is the only rule” game is based on a simple premise: you're competing in a TV game show that has taken over the world, and the only rule is that you must survive.
If you want to achieve this, you can defend yourself and fend off any and all of those who would threaten your continued existence on the planet with katanas, buzzsaws, hammers, and other such implements. The more stylish your executions and skills, the more likes you'll receive from the audience, which is presumably salivating at the prospect of more real-life megaviolence to be unleashed on them.
Is there a trailer for Deathverse: Let it Die?
While PvP will be the focus of the game, there will also be some PvE elements included: “nigh-invincible Hunters” are going to be deployed during the match to keep you on your toes and demonstrate that survival isn't just about killing other people – it's also about avoiding your own death, according to the developer.
This game will not be developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, as was the case with the original Let it Die, but will instead be a collaborative effort between GungHo and Supertrick Games.
