Rogue-lite based on a game show Deathrun TV made its debut on the Future Games Show at E3, and it has now released a “pilot episode” on Steam to coincide with the event.
The top-down shooter aesthetic of Deathrun TV, combined with the game's disarmingly friendly sprites, has led many to compare it to The Binding Of Isaac or The Running Man.
What is DeathRun TV?
A quick and furious twin-stick shooter set in the world's biggest and craziest game show, DEATHRUN TV is an action-packed hardcore rogue-lite title.
In this 2D bullet hell where only “likes” matter, you'll experience real-time blazing speed and bullet-dodging action while competing for glory.
DeathRun TV Trailer
This was established in the game's teaser, which depicted a “very disturbed future” where “likes are everything and death is nothing,” according to the trailer. “It is only the run that matters.”
“Deathrun TV” is a game show shooter described by future Games Show presenter Troy Barker as “a game show shooter where you get likes for dunkin' on contestants and causing a little wanton damage.”
Greed Demo is the title of the “pilot episode,” and it is available for free for a short period.
A dystopian gladiatorial game show, Deathrun TV focuses on the audience experience, encouraging contestants to commit increasingly extravagant and violent deaths as the show progresses.

In production since 2020, Deathrun TV is the sixth game by indie company Laser Dog Games and will be released in 2022.
It is expected to be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, while no specific release date has been revealed.
