In addition to the previously announced Steam and Epic Games Store release dates, the Death Stranding Director's Cut PC version will be available on March 30, 2022. It will be available for purchase separately for $39.99, or as an upgrade for existing owners of the original for $9.99. On the latter point, Death Stranding is currently on sale for 70% off during the Steam Lunar Sale, which runs until February 3rd. If you're interested but don't already own the original, purchasing it now and upgrading later would be the best course of action for you.
Throughout the company's history at Konami, Kojima Productions' games were occasionally followed by deluxe editions that could fairly be described as “director's cuts”: Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence are examples of this. Death by a Thousand Cuts The Director's Cut is expected to continue in this vein, adding some truly bizarre elements (and there will be plenty of them), while also polishing the game overall: increased frame rates, support for ultrawide monitors, and support for Intel's new Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) graphics technology are all included.

Death Stranding Director's Cut To Include Metal Gear-inspired Side Missions
Again, it's time to deliver some cargo! Death Stranding is already a visually stunning experience, and the Director's Cut adds a slew of new features, including Metal Gear-inspired side missions, new items such as hover packs, and an absurd racing track. Kojima himself appears to be very pleased with himself, and he has gone to some absurd lengths to promote his ‘final' trailer for the game.
Perhaps the most Kojima-Esque moment surrounding the DC's release occurred when he stated that he was dissatisfied with the fact that it was referred to as a ‘director's cut,' as if he had no say in the matter. Since then, he has simply decided to'screw it' and established his own film production company.
