Yes, Dark Winds will return for a second season on your television screen. The show's first season was completed on July 17, 2022, when the network aired the final episode. It was announced on June 23, 2022, that the show had been renewed for a second June 23 after a week of speculation.
There are more Dark Winds on the way, according to the official Twitter account of AMC+. The second season of AMC's “instant classic” (@theAVClub) has been ordered.
Release Date for Dark Winds Season 2

By the end of the day on June 24, 2022, the network has yet to confirm the precise June 24 date of Dark Winds Season 2. A few days ago, it was revealed that the franchise would be renewed.
Thus any word about a release date now would be presumptuous. If all goes according to plan and there is no delay in the upcoming season's release, it is expected to be issued between early and mid-2023.
We also want to be clear that this is purely conjectured. Because filming is anticipated to begin in the following months, AMC+ and AMC will publish and confirm the official release dates for the next season.
Based on the first season's release schedule, the debut date for the second season is most likely in the summer of 2023. Fans are advised to keep an eye on it till that time comes.
The Storyline for Dark Winds Season 2

Assuming all goes according to plan, the second season will take up where the first one left off, with HózhóoNaasháa, which premiered on July 17, 2022. According to the episode's official synopsis, there are hard choices to make for Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito as they reach the Buffalo Society's secret hideout.
The attack was written by Maya Rose Dittloff and directed by Chris Eyre and Sanford Bookstaver. As a result, it is likely that the pilot episode of Dark Winds Season 2 would be based on this already established premise.
It's also claimed that the opening episode of the following season will take up any potential cliffhangers and subplots and plunge right into this universe with more experiments, giving fans something new to look at instead of the same old themes.
To keep these adored characters at the top of the network's priority list, persuading fans to watch the series is essential. “It's 1971 in an isolated outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley,” reads the official synopsis on AMC's website.
Joe Leaphorn, the Tribal Police Lieutenant, has been the victim of a string of crimes. The more he tries to uncover the truth, the more he reveals the scars of his past. Jim Chee, his new deputy, also has a long-standing feud from his past to settle. Both men face their inner demons and the powers of evil in their quest for salvation.”
The Cast of the Second Season of Dark Winds

The original cast from the first season is expected to return to continue the story in the second season. As of June 24, 2022, the network had not made any additional casting announcements. As a result, the following is a list of the series' most prominent characters:
- Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn
