The Canadian science fiction TV show Dark Matter ran from 2015 to 2017. After its third and last season, it was canceled. It's been almost four years since the sad news that Dark Matter Season 4 would not be released.

All About Dark Matter

The comic book with the same name by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. It has been made into a TV show in Canada called Dark Matter. Screenwriters and translators Mallozzi and Mullie made NCIS. They also came up with the idea for the program.

Space, a Canadian TV network, made the show with help from Prodigy Pictures in Toronto. In August 2014, SyFy said it would support the project and ordered thirteen episodes for the first season. The first season premiered on both Spaces and Syfy on July 12, 2015.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland's first season ended on July 1, 2016, when Alice's daughter was born. This event was shown on TV. Dark Matter's second season was picked up for another thirteen episodes in September 2016.

The third season began on June 9, 2017. At the same time, the show was still on the air. The show ended on September 1, 2017, just over a month after the last episode of the third season.

Dark Matter Season 4: Renewal Status

Season 3 of Dark Matter ended more than three years ago. Even after all this time, people are still discussing why Season 4 of Dark Matter won't be shown. The show was supposed to have been canceled because it didn't have enough viewers.

Critics liked Dark Matter's third season and had a good number of viewers, but not as many as the previous season. The show's rating stayed the same while the last episode was being shown. But after some digging, more rumors came out about the real reason why the network did it.

People had many ideas about how the show would end, but Mallozzi, who helped make the show, tried to give a different view. According to the terms of service, neither SyFy (the network) nor NBC Universal (the parent company) owns the rights to Dark Matter.

All distribution rights have been bought by the company that made the show, Prodigy Pictures. They will lose money if the show is sold overseas or streamed on streaming sites. But we can probably assume that the TV show was canceled for financial reasons and not because its ratings were steadily going down.

Season 4's Plot and Storyline

Dark Matter is a dystopian science fiction drama from the 27th century. It's about six people who wake up on a broken-down starship without memory of their past lives. They have no idea what the spaceship is doing there.

Even though they have doubts, the group works together to discover what's happening. A female android goes with them and guides and helps them on their journey. They are taken to a faraway planet with nothing but a war-torn cargo hold full of weapons and a secret destination that will soon become a battleground.
