Curious Expedition 2 - Release Date Announced For Xbox & PlayStation!

In a joint announcement, Thunderful and developer Maschinen-Mensch are happy to announce that Curious Expedition 2, their critically acclaimed roguelike exploration game, will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 17th, 2022.

Through backward compatibility, the game will also be playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles.

What is Curious Expedition 2 About?

Known as a turn-based narrative roguelike, Curious Expedition 2 challenges players to manage their resources and party members in order to keep insanity at bay and achieve glory.

A major discovery has been made: unexplained islands have begun to emerge and vanish from the oceans as if by magic, causing consternation among the scientific community.

Expeditions to these odd islands are being funded by the big Explorer Clubs in order to bring riches back for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. Are you brave enough to embark on this journey?

What does Highlands of Avalon DLC include?

With the epic Highlands of Avalon DLC, a totally new island type will be added to the basic game, as well as a new mechanic for crossing hills and valleys, a new tribe called the Picts, eight new recruitable characters, and a plethora of new equipment, monsters, and other features!

Owners of the Nintendo Switch need not be concerned about being left out, as the DLC will be released on their platform of choice on the same day.

Gameplay

A Jules Verne-inspired pulp adventure set in a recreated version of the late nineteenth century, Curious Expedition 2 employs procedural gameplay and story features to create completely unique and epic experiences every time the player logs in.

Players' characters and those they recruit are all procedurally created, with specified classes, their own distinctive appearance, skills, strengths, and weaknesses as well as their own unique powers and strengths.

All kinds of unforeseen occurrences can have a positive or bad impact on your progress throughout your expeditions, so careful resource and sanity management are required to return home with your spoils – and your crew!
