That's exactly the sensation we get from viewing the game's release date announcement teaser, which was only recently released to YouTube.
White Paper Games, a small independent British firm, created this story-driven detective thriller. A mysterious disappearance of an 8-year-old child named Charlotte May is the focus of this evocative game, which takes place in England in the 1950s.
Story
The player assumes the character of Robert Conway, a private investigator who is tasked with solving the mystery surrounding her abduction.
Conway observes his neighbors' suspicious behavior from the comfort of his apartment window, and in this hostile climate of ambiguity, everyone becomes a potential suspect, even himself.
The player will take on the role of Conway and conduct their own investigation into Charlotte's abduction, putting together their own case in the process. Conway will have to monitor the people who live in Dahlia View from the comfort of his own apartment in order to find clues and uncover new leads.
Gameplay
In order to progress further in the investigation, the player must ask the appropriate questions of the suspects and witnesses. Throughout the trailer, Conway contemplates the question, “How well did I actually know my neighbors?”
As the story unfolds, our retired detective will come to discover that he had been completely unaware of the mundane lives of the people in his neighborhood.
“Someone had to take care of what needed to be done. “No matter what the cost is.” These are Conway's final words, as heard in the video announcement.
This enigma may require that you take matters into your own hands if you want it to be solved.
