What Do We Know About Cobra Kai Season Five's Release Date?
- Season 4 of Netflix premiered on December 31, 2021, and season 3 premiered on January 1, 2021.
- According to Johnny Lawrence actor William Zabka on Instagram(opens in new tab), season 5 of Cobra Kai will conclude in December 2021.
- However, the release date for the next chapter has not yet been announced.
- If the series follows its typical release schedule, we should expect to see it anytime between late December 2022 and (very) early January 2023, assuming it is not delayed.
However, now that the season is over, it may arrive sooner rather than later. Let's hope the next round of karate showdowns comes around sooner rather than later this year.
When Will We Be Able to See the Cobra Kai Season 5 Trailer?
- Cobra Kai Season 4 teasers were posted in the lead-up to the new episodes on Netflix.
- The first teaser, which showed the return of Terry Silver, aired in May 2021, meaning that season 4 will premiere seven months after the first teaser. A full trailer was released just a month before the attacks were made public.
- Based on this pattern, we may anticipate seeing some teasers for the new series well before its premiere, which should be somewhere in the next few months.
It will be some time before a decent trailer is released, and it will likely not be until we are near the start of the new season.
The Cast of Cobra Kai Season 5
- Nothing has been formally confirmed for the season 5 cast as of yet, although it's a given that some characters will return for another season.
- In the first place, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence are almost expected to produce, which means Ralph Macchio and William Zabka will also return to their roles.
- Courtney Henggeler will almost certainly reprise her role as Amanda LaRusso, and Vanessa Rubio will reprise her role as Carmen Diaz.
- Then it's almost a foregone conclusion that the big villain will return. Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) will likely play a significant role in season 5, and we'll also see John Kreese (Martin Kove) return (after a possible spell in prison, of course – more on that in a bit).
- During the last minutes of season 4, it was also revealed that a surprise cast member would be returning for season 5: Yuji Okumoto will reprise his role as Chozen from The Karate Kid 2, which he first played in season 3 of The Karate Kid.
- In terms of the younger cast, we can expect to see familiar faces such as Xolo Mariduea as Miguel Diaz, Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso, Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, Jacob Bertrand as Hawk, Gianni DeCenzo as Demetri Alexopoulos, Peyton List as Tory Nichols, Joe Seo as Kyler Park, Selah Austria as Piper, Khalil Everage as Chris, Aideen.
- In addition to Griffin Santopietro reprising his role as Anthony LaRusso following his extended role in season 4, we can expect newcomers Dallas Young as Kenny Payne and Oona O'Brien as Devon to return as well.
It is unclear whether Paul Walter Hauser will reprise his role as Stingray following his surprise appearance in season 4.

Is Cobra Kai Season 5 the Last Season of the Show? READ MORE:
Although there is no official season 6, the show's creators, Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg, and Jon Hurwitz, have stated that they intend to produce more seasons in the future.
- “It's changed at times, but it hasn't changed at all,” Heald said in an interview with Collider (opens in new tab).
- “We're still working on a strategy for the endgame. Season 5 is still in the works, and we're still writing.
- However, it has been enjoyable to introduce those new characters and storylines and to allow them to take the lead sometimes.”
- Hurwitz stated: “We have never said how many seasons there will be from the beginning.
- Regarding the landing, I believe we've always thought of it as at least six feet long in our heads, but we're still figuring out exactly how long it should be for all of the reasons Josh described.”
- Schlossberg, in an interview with Deadline, stated that the series could go on beyond a possible sixth part in the future.
- “We have a certain goal in mind,” he explained. “How many seasons it will take to get there is something we don't know yet.
- We're having a great time putting everything together.” “If it becomes too exhausting for us, we'll call it quits before that; we've already planned out a few more seasons.” he continued.
It is unclear whether Cobra Kai will be renewed after season 5, but with season 4 becoming one of Netflix's most popular programs, the future is bright.
