Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition - What We Know So Far

Square Enix, the well-known developer, and publisher of JRPGs has resurrected a number of its classic titles for current platforms, and the upcoming Chrono Cross is no exception.

Everything old is fresh again, whether it's Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters on PC and mobile or console remasters like Nier Replicant, SaGa Frontier, and Legend of Mana.

It was previously speculated that Chrono Cross, the PS1 sequel to the iconic SNES RPG Chrono Trigger, might see an HD remake or remaster, but Nintendo's February 2022 Nintendo Direct announced that an HD remake is actually on the way. Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is the name of the game.

On February 20, 2022, Nintendo stated that the Chrono Cross remaster would be published on April 7, 2022, during the Nintendo Direct broadcast.

Yes, there certainly is! In the Nintendo Direct from February 2022, Nintendo unveiled a trailer that primarily showcased cutscenes, combat, and other gameplay details from the upcoming Nintendo Switch game.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition Leaks

This Chrono Cross remaster, particularly in retrospect, was one of the worst-kept secrets in the history of video games. The existence of this title was originally revealed to us in September 2021 as a result of a leak from Nvidia GeForce Now.

Despite the fact that Nvidia maintains the list was theoretical, many of the games on it have subsequently been announced, such as Outcast 2 and the PC port of God of War.

Interestingly, the leak also hinted at the possibility of a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster as well as a Final Fantasy IX remake being in development.

In October, folk singer Éabha McMahon disclosed on WLR FM's Lunchbox radio show that she had written a song for a PlayStation game remake that will be released around the time of the holiday season.

This heightened the enthusiasm further when Xbox Era Co-Founder Nick Baker (also known as dependable leaker Shpeshal Nick) revealed on the November 20 episode of his podcast that he had learned that the game McMahon had spoken about was a multiplatform remaster of the Chrono Cross franchise.
