He attended Seton Hall University to obtain his Juris Doctor after completing his undergraduate studies in political science at the University of Delaware following his high school graduation.
After graduating from law school, Christie started working for a private law firm called Dughi, Hewit, and Palatucci. He was a securities law, election law, and government affairs expert and finally rose to a partner position.

Ron Desantis Claims Chris Christie Doesn't Know Him Well Enough to Criticize Him!
Chris Christie of New Jersey cut a distinctive figure long before Ron DeSantis was dubbed “America's Governor.”
Christie, who is not currently in public office, has not ruled out running in 2024, which could put him in direct opposition to DeSantis if both men run.

With a brutal attack on Sen. Marco Rubio during the 2016 Primary debates, Christie already dashed one Floridian's hopes of becoming president.
On the Ruthless Podcast episode broadcast on Tuesday, Christie said it might be more challenging to dispose of DeSantis than it was to do with Rubio.
Because I don't honestly know him, it will take some time, Christie added.
The topic of DeSantis' tendency to attend governors' conferences alone (probably the Republican Governors Association) came up next.
Christie argued, “I don't think Ron goes out with anybody from what I can tell.”
Christie remarked, “Like when I'm at the RGA meetings, Ron's pretty much by himself and his crew. He doesn't hang out with the other governors, in my opinion.
I don't know him well enough, so I'm going to need some time to think about this, Christie said. “To find out what annoys these folks, you must get to know them a little bit.”
He added that if Christie runs, that procedure will come before the debates.
As soon as you get onto the stage, you must be prepared, added Christie.
While Christie may still run for president, signs point to the party's core supporting DeSantis, the first-term governor. Former President Donald Trump elevated him before becoming his apparent successor.
Christie typically scores in the low single digits in polls if he is included. At the same time, DeSantis consistently emerges as the clear front-runner among possible 2024 candidates to replace Trump in the presidency.
On the other hand, DeSantis participated in the same show in January. He was evasive about his goals for 2024, much like he has done in more recent interviews.
