In the 1960s, Carol started on stage. In 1974, she made her first big-screen appearance in The Autobiography of Miss Jade Pittman.

Aside from her part in the 1980s movie Steel Magnolias, Carol was in many other well-known movies, such as Ray and The Help. NOLA says that Carol's husband, Archie Sutton Jr., is the only person who will remember her.

What Was Carol Sutton's Cause of Death?

Carol died of Covid on December 10, 2020, just a few days after her 76th birthday. The late star's death was confirmed by the mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell. She put out a statement that said, “Carol Sutton was almost the Queen of New Orleans theatre. She had been performing on stages all over the city for decades.”

LaToya added, “May she rest in the peace that only God can give.” Ava DuVernay, who made Queen Sugar's show, gave Carol an award. Carol was also on the show.
