Bullet Train is an upcoming American action comedy film directed by David Leitch, based on a screenplay written by Zak Olkewicz. The film is set to be released in theatres on July 19, 2018. Based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle (published in English as Bullet Train) by Kotaro Isaka, the film is set in the present day. In addition to Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sakai, Michael Shannon, Bad Bunny, Zazie Beetz, Logan Lerman, Karen Fukuhara, Masi Oka, and Sandra Bullock, the film has an ensemble cast that includes Bad Bunny, Bad Bunny, and Bad Bunny.
Bullet Train would be the first time that Hollywood celebrities Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock will appear onscreen together in what is expected to be one of the most anticipated films of the year 2022, Bullet Train.
Adapted on a famous Japanese novel by author Kotaro Isaka and directed by David Leitch, who is best known for Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, the film is set in the present day. The action-comedy centers on five assassins who all board the same-named bullet train in Japan and quickly find that their goals are intertwined as a result of their shared experience.
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Leitch teased the next film, saying: “When you hear the title Bullet Train, your first thought is “hard-boiled action.” But, in reality, it's a deliriously entertaining, heightened comedy action thriller with a twist.”
He went on to say: “An element of physical humor may be found here and there. The bouts are intended to improve the characters' abilities. We're here to have a good time in this really confined place.”
With an all-star cast and a slew of sophisticated and intense battle scenes, the buzz around the highly anticipated picture promises that it will also have an engaging pace and a gratifying feeling of anticipation as the train accelerates towards its final destination with nowhere to hide and no way off (bullet trains can reach speeds of over 300mph).
Bullet Train's Release Date
The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on July 29, 2022. Filming began in 2020, but owing to the pandemic, the film's release date has been postponed until 2021.
As filming in a variety of fascinating places got underway, Leitch took to Instagram to share a few mysterious messages with his followers. The actor stated in the next post that he expects the film to be an exciting experience for both the viewers and the cast and crew involved in its production.
“What you don't know is where the @bullettrainmovie will take you! @kmacnjo and I boarded the plane and ended ourselves in gorgeous Lancaster, California with @badbunnypr. What an incredible journey!!!”
A reference to David's wife Kelly McCormick, who is also involved in the film's production, and @badbunnypr is a reference to the rapper Bad Bunny, who is also a member of the all-star cast.
Bullet Train's plot
Five assassins board the bullet train in Japan, which is known for its lightning-fast speeds and international fame.
Although they only make a few stops on their trek across the country, the five assassins soon realize that their objectives are intertwined, and their journey turns into a race against time and against each other in an attempt to reach their final destination alive.
A passenger is kept in their seat by a cable tie, as seen in the photo below, which was taken from David Leitch's Instagram account. The voyage isn't pleasant for everyone on board, as evidenced by the picture below. Despite the fact that it is still unclear who they are and why they need to be restrained.
A Variety story stated that during CinemaCon, a convention for movie theatre owners held in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures premiered a trailer from the film, in which Brad Pitt's character is embroiled in a horrific battle with the character played by music-star Bad Bunny.
In the cramped confines of the train compartment, the two men get into a physical fight over a briefcase before one of them is stabbed.
