Set in 43 AD, when the Romans invaded Britain, Britannia is a historical fantasy drama. In 2018, it was the first co-production between Sky and Amazon Prime Video, and it was produced by Jez and Tom Butterworth.
Reviews have been mostly positive, with viewers appreciative of the show's ability to successfully combine real events with fantasy. Season one premiered on Sky Atlantic and Amazon Prime Video in January 2018.
After this, the show was renewed for two more seasons. Jez Butterworth said at the time when the third season was renewed, “We can't wait to keep going on our fantastical trip through prehistoric Britain.
Our West Country mushrooms this year are exceptional, so hold on to your hats.” But what does the show's future hold? Here's the scoop:
Will Britannia Get the Fourth Season?
The debut of season three of the show took place in the fall of 2021. After the first season, Amazon pulled out of the project, and the second season didn't become accessible for streaming on the service until recently.
Positive feedback from fans has led to the show's success. There has been no word on whether or not the show will be renewed for a second season. A vast amount of past events, however, remain unexplored by the show's producers.
We're only a handful of years into the invasion, and the Romans lived here for 400 years, so who knows? The actor behind the druids Veran and Harka, Mackenzie Crook, spoke to Radio Times about his character.
About 20 years after the invasion, in about AD60, I believe the Druids were wiped out in a major battle, so “if I can keep hold of the [Druid] leadership, I've got a couple of series left in me.”

Britannia Season 4 Release Date: When Will It Air?
Some viewers may be relieved to hear that Season 4 of Britannia is in the works. However, the showrunners and creators have not yet delivered the formal piece that will herald the show's possible release.
Since the creators have already demonstrated enthusiasm for the next season, there is good reason to expect it to be released soon. On the other side, we might anticipate the ofifacols to continue with a series like Britannia, which already has a well-known place among the shows.
Why is it so simple to renew the show, by the way? Its popularity and audience size are huge factors. There is more than enough interest in either one to keep the show's creators around for another season. Season 4 of Britannia, if there is to be one, will premiere in 2023.
I don't think it's fair to set the release date for 2022 if people are already anticipating it. It will take some time for the staff to conclude preparations after receiving the official notice, which has not yet arrived. We also expect them to follow the annual renewal pattern when releasing fresh seasons of their shows.

Britannia Season 4 Plot
In order to learn from Caesar's successes and avoid repeating his failures, Aulus immersed himself in his writings. He established a secure base from which he can gather intelligence from all sectors of society.
He can't be given any more time in office in Britain. As a last resort, he consults druids, experiences visions, and even has conversations with the Celtic deities in an effort to mount a counterattack. The key is to win over your allies because they're all good.
Meanwhile, exiled druid Divis is wandering the woods in search of a female he can pay to keep him company. Others feared him because of his hypnotic abilities and his ability to correctly read their thoughts.
And they certainly don't want to take any chances or worry again in this unstable and misguided era. He's on a secret mission of his own, and no one knows what it is.
