If you don't like the minions, then I am not sure what kind of creature are you and what your purpose is on this earth( Just Kidding), I am saying this because I am a huge fan of minions. I have been following them since the first release. The Despicable Me brand, as well as Illumination, the animation company that produces its increasingly successful features and shorts, has utterly changed animated films in the last decade, producing one box office smash after another.
And, while worldwide animation companies and movie studios in general have had a difficult year, Illumination and its flagship series are looking forward to a bright future, anchored by the imminent release of Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Excited To know the Release Date of Minions: The Rise of Gru?
When the Despicable Me prequel and Minions sequel was first revealed in May 2019, it appeared like fans of the Illumination series would be flocking to cinemas on July 3, 2020, just over five years after its predecessor grossed $1.16 billion globally, according to Deadline. Unfortunately, that day has passed as Universal Pictures postponed their lineup of 2020 films just as the epidemic was ramping up, opting for a safer release date of July 2, 2021. According to Variety, the film was finally rescheduled for July 1, 2022, which is now its current and presumably final release date.
Let's Know About the Cast
To say the least, the cast of “Minions: The Rise of Gru” is amazing. Carell will reprise his part as Gru, as previously stated, but it will undoubtedly be entertaining to hear the “Despicable Me” star alter his vocal delivery to represent a younger version of the character. A few essential supporting characters join Carell. Julie Andrews reprises her role as Gru's overbearing mother, Marlena Gru.
Russell Brand will reprise his role as a younger Dr. Nefarious, who will grow up to become one of Gru's closest associates. And there wouldn't be a “Minions” film without Pierre Coffin, who performs the voices for the main Minions Kevin, Stuart, and Bob, as well as other Minions in other scenes.
“Minions: The Rise of Gru” is set in the 1970s, when a young Gru dreams of being one of the world's greatest supervillains. According to the official Universal Pictures website for the film, “”When the Vicious 6 overthrow their leader, famed fighter Wild Knuckles, Gru interviews to become their newest member,” says the sequel to “Minions.” It doesn't go well (to put it mildly), and it only gets worse once Gru outwits them and becomes the deadly enemy of the ultimate evil.”
Gru's ambitions to prove himself to The Vicious 6 are thwarted even more when Otto, one of the newest members of his Minion horde, misplaces the valuable object Gru was expecting to use as a pawn in his talks to join The Vicious 6. As a result, Gru, Otto, and the Minions must work together to correct Otto's error while avoiding The Vicious 6, all in the hopes of realising Gru's ambition of becoming a supervillain.
Wrapping Up
On February 5, 2020, a full-length trailer for “Minions: The Rise of Gru” was published. The trailer was released only days after a teaser for the forthcoming “Minions” spin-off franchise episode was shown before the 2020 Super Bowl. As it introduces us to the continuing “Minions” franchise plot, the official trailer is equal parts high energy and light humour. The trailer shows Gru as a pre-teen attending an audition for The Vicious 6 over the length of approximately three minutes.
