Blockbuster Season 2: The first season of Netflix's workplace comedy Blockbuster didn't answer many questions, so it's not clear if there will be a second season. Blockbuster was made by Vanessa Ramos and stars Randall Park as Timmy and Melissa Fumero as Eliza.
It follows the lives of the people who work at the last remaining franchise branch of Blockbuster Video on the planet. But after the end of Blockbuster's first season, it's not clear where the show will go next. Here's what we know about a possible second season of Blockbuster on Netflix.
Will There Be a Second Season of Blockbuster Season 2?
As of November 2022, the second season of Blockbuster has not been officially announced by the network. We know that the last episode of the first season, called “Sh*t Storm,” was the last one. It was written by Vanessa Ramos and Mary Nguyen.
It came out on November 3, 2022, the same day as the other episodes. Since the first season of the show just ended a few hours ago, any news or updates about a possible second season seem way too soon for a major network to make such big announcements in such a short amount of time.
Blockbuster Season 2: Release Date
The series hasn't been officially confirmed by the network, and the likely premiere date hasn't been announced. The status of the show is neither here nor there. If the show is picked up for a second season in a couple of weeks, like it was for the first season, we can guess that it might come out in 2023.
What Will Be the Plot of Blockbuster Season 2?
Timmy and Eliza's will-they-won't-they love story continues in season 2 of Blockbuster. Eliza finally decides to leave her husband for good and tells Timmy she likes him.
This slow-burning romance reminds me of the relationships between Amy Sosa and Jonah Simms in Superstore and Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, both of which Vanessa Ramos has worked on.
Even the minor characters are the heart of Blockbuster, and their stories can be explored further. For example, the supportive friendship between Carlos (Tyler Alvarez) and Hannah (Madeleine Arthur).
Connie's (Olga Merediz) quest to find a new best friend and Percy's (J.B. Smoove) difficult relationship with his daughter Kayla (Kamaia Fairburn) can all be explored further. There is a lot more to learn about all of these characters, and season 2 of Blockbuster could tell us.
Who is in the Cast of Blockbuster Season 2?
