Years later, when Guts joins the squad, he notices that its strength has waned and that the team is now being pursued across Midland for an act of terrorism committed by Griffith, who has been incarcerated since then.
When the troops finally manage to release Griffith with Guts' assistance, they discover that he has been altered while in captivity. The Band of the Hawk should try to reclaim their name in Midland now that Griffith has proven to be a shell of his former self. As a result, their battle to reclaim their former attractiveness ends in a threatening manner.
Guts has hostilities to try to exchange his fate after being marked for death and persistently continued through vampires. This, however, demonstrates that it is far from simple. As a result, Guts finds support along the route in the form of some unlikely allies.
