‘Married at First Sight' on Nine Network follows an intriguing social experiment style in which individuals who are new to one another are partnered to evaluate their compatibility and see if sparks fly.
Charlene Perera and Patrick Miller, both Melbourne natives, signed up for season 5 of the Australian television reality series, which aired in 2018, to explore if arranged marriage will work in their favor.
The two were matched together and became an instant hit with the audience. Unlike many of the other couples on the show, they chose to give their romance a shot and said “I do” at the end.
However, it has been quite some time since the season aired, and fans are left wondering whether their favorite couple has managed to stay together after all these years.
Are Charlene and Patrick Still Together?
Even though they were one of three couples on the show who chose to walk out together, Charlene Perera and Patrick Miller called it quits shortly after the cameras stopped rolling. During the MAFS reunion show, Charlene revealed that Patrick had “ghosted” her after their final vows.
Meanwhile, Patrick revealed that, while the event had overwhelmed him, he was dissatisfied with Charlene's vows since they included stipulations that made him uncomfortable. Charlene did, however, confess that the two were in quite different stages of life.
While they did spark suspicions of reconciliation after being seen together in a charity telethon, Patrick cleared the air by saying, “I haven't caught up with Charlene for a bit, but it's just like seeing an old mate; it felt normal.”
Even though things had not worked out between them, they had remained excellent friends. Following their breakup, there were allegations that Charlene was dating fellow MAFS competitor Mathew Lockett, which she neither confirmed nor denied.
In January 2019, it was revealed that she was dating Marcus Tanti, another Melbourne resident and real estate executive, but the couple split up in November 2019.
While Charlene promised to use the dating app Bumble again, fate intervened, and she met her current spouse, Jonathan Byrne. After a year of dating, the couple became engaged in July 2021.
On September 20, 2022, the couple became delighted parents to Austin. She is also Jonathan's stepmother to his two sons from a previous relationship. Otto, a four-legged dog, is also part of the family of five. Charlene frequently posts photos of her gorgeous family on social media, keeping admirers up-to-date on the activities in her exciting and rewarding life.

Meanwhile, Patrick appears to have kept a quiet profile. In 2019, he made waves for his appearance in an X-rated music video for Xposed Xotics, which he published on social media.
While it is unknown whether the Filipino-American operations manager is currently dating anyone, he frequently updates his social media with photos of him having fun with friends and discussing basketball, food, family, and life.
