In season 5, viewers were introduced to Caleb Greenwood and Alina Kasha, a couple whose unique relationship stems from the fact that they were friends for years before they started dating. Caleb and Alina’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Journey
Caleb Greenwood, originally from Arizona & Alina, originally from Russia, met when they were both 15 years old. Initially meeting through a language-learning software online, they eventually drifted apart. They hadn't seen each other in approximately 13 years, but when they finally did meet, it was love at first sight.
It was in Turkey when they first met, and that event was chronicled in the series. It might be really nerve-wracking to finally meet someone you've known for years. Alina, who voiced her concerns on air, became even more exposed after going through what she did.
Diastrophic dysplasia is an extremely uncommon cause of short stature & Alina has it. Despite the fact that Caleb was aware of the situation, she was still nervous about how he would react when he finally met her.
But, Alina's sense of safety was not always bolstered by Caleb's forthright personality and propensity to say what was on his mind. Despite all that had happened, the two became closer as they were forced to rely on one another rather than on any electronic devices. Although the couple appeared to be doing well, they actually had some issues.
Alina's best friend Elijah, who accompanied her to Turkey, appeared to be a major roadblock. Both Caleb and Elijah looked to want what was best for Alina, but neither man's ways were favored by Alina. Elijah felt especially out of place when the topic of previous relationships came up in conversation.
Alina and Caleb's relationship may be in danger because of her past relationships. In spite of the fact that her relationship with Caleb was progressing seriously, the Russian beauty acknowledged that she was still living with an ex. Although Alina could not predict the reaction of the latter, she decided to keep the information to herself.
In the end, Alina understood that telling Caleb about her ex was crucial. She admitted in an interview, “He's a guy who always tries to tell the truth, so I honestly don't know how he's going to react to discovering that I lied to him. I really, really, really, hope it doesn't mess anything up. So, did Alina and Caleb get past this glitch, or did it cause them to grow apart for good?
Why Was Alina Fired From the Show?
When some of Alina's inappropriate and abusive social media posts, including one in which she used the N-word, appeared online after she made her debut on the show, she became the center of a racism scandal.
The network said they wouldn't be continuing their partnership with Alina. According to a statement given to Us Weekly on January 26, 2022, TLC announced that it has stopped filming with Alina Kozhevnikova after the revelation of her previous social media posts.
Next month, she will no longer feature on Before the 90 Days, and she will not appear in the upcoming Tell All or any future seasons of the franchise. Discrimination of any type is not tolerated at TLC.
In a YouTube video titled “Taking Responsibility for My Actions” published in February 2022, Alina expressed “severe regret” for her previous conduct on social media.
Are Caleb and Alina Still Together?
According to their social media activity, Caleb Greenwood and Alina Kasha are still very much together. The Arizona native uploaded photos of his trip to Istanbul with the Russian artist in early January 2022. He even shared an image of them from their first morning in Turkey, which went viral among his followers.
Alina, despite her apparent dedication to her music career, wastes no chance to post flirting and appreciative messages about Caleb on social media. An Instagram video from December 2021 shows her staring in disbelief as a shirtless Caleb runs slowly behind her. Yet it appears that the couple is currently not living together and is maybe making it work long-distance.
Alina discussed her feelings for Caleb in an interview with ET that aired in December 2021. She stated, “It's pretty important to have fun and everything, and our sense of humor is kind of similar.” Moreover, the reality star stated, “…he appeared like someone I want to get to know better and someone I can confide in because we also knew each other for such a long time.”
Their future together depends on if and when they decide to take their relationship to the next level. Being honest with one another is what really important, and the beloved couple has shown time and time again that it makes all the difference in the world in their relationships.
