Ant-man and the Wasp Quantumania: Who Will Be the New Cast Member in This Movie

Fans of the Marvel franchise Ant-Man, get ready because there will soon be a third episode in the series. On February 17, 2023, the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be made available to the public in cinemas.

Ant-Man, played by Paul Rudd, and Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly, will be brought back together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's thirty-first installment.

Although we are certain that Rudd and Lilly will be making a comeback, we do not yet have a great deal of information on the story's actual narrative.

It's possible that the list of actors who have already been confirmed for the role might provide us some insight into what to anticipate and who we could recognize from other Marvel films and characters.

There are going to be some new faces joining the cast, in addition to the returning performers, and there have been murmurs and conjecture that big-name personalities like Bill Murray will be a part of it.

In light of this, let's review everything there is to know about the characters of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania.

Who else from the first two movies is coming back for the third installment in addition to Rudd and Lilly? Is there any big cast member that won't be returning for the third installment? Who is reported to make an appearance, as well as who will be joining the cast as new members?

Quantumania: Who Is Returning?

Ant-man and the Wasp Quantumania

As previously established, Paul Rudd reprises his role as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, while Evangeline Lilly reprises her role as Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp. Rudd has also appeared in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame as Ant-Man. Endgame also included a cameo by Lilly's Wasp.
Actor Michael Douglas has returned to his role as Hank Pym in Quantumania as well as in Avengers: Endgame. Janet Van Dyne, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, will also be returning. Aside from being the original Wasp, Janet is also Hope's mother, Hank's wife, and the mother of Hank's children.
Ant-Man and the Wasp concluded with Scott Lang vanishing for five years into the Quantum Realm before resurfacing in Endgame.
Lang only experienced a five-hour time shift as the rest of the world progressed by five years (sort of like how Paul Rudd himself has seemingly not aged in over 20 years).
Lang had to learn to deal with all he had lost over the past five years when he reemerged. He will presumably have to deal with that trauma when portraying Lang in Quantumania, which was not addressed in Endgame.

There are now just four cast members from the previous two Ant-Man films that have been confirmed to return: Rudd, Lilly, Douglas, and Pfeiffer.

Quantumania: Who Is Still Unconfirmed?

Ant-man and the Wasp Quantumania

It is still early, with about a year to go until the release, so it is possible that more prior cast members will return to reprise their roles from earlier editions of the series. It is important to note that certain significant cast members from the previous films have not yet been confirmed to feature in this one.

Luis, a member of Lang's crew and Michael Pena's previous cellmate, was portrayed by Michael Pena in the film.

As the current spouse of Lang's ex-wife Maggie, played by Judy Greer, who is also no longer present in the picture, Bobby Cannavale portrayed the role of Jim Paxton.

The appearances of other members of Lang's squad, such as Dave, who is portrayed by rapper T.I., and Kurt, who is portrayed by David Dastmalchian, have not been confirmed either.

As of right now, there are no headlining actors from any of the other Marvel Cinematic Universe films scheduled to appear in it.

However, given that these actors frequently appear in cameos or after-credits scenes, it is possible that the filmmakers are simply keeping any potential appearances a secret.

Quantumania: What Are the Roles of the New Players?

Two of the three new stars who have been confirmed are joining franchises that are already familiar to Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. In the upcoming television show Quantumania, Kathryn Newton will play the role of Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang.

Cassie has appeared in many Marvel Cinematic Universe films, despite the fact that Newton is making her debut performance as the character. She made her debut in the first Ant-Man movie, where the role was played by the then-teenage actress Abby Ryder Fortson.

Ant-Man and the Wasp would be Fortson's second appearance in the role. When Cassie made her appearance in Endgame, the character had aged up by five years to reflect the length of time that Lang had been in the Quantum Realm. Emma Fuhrmann was the one who portrayed this character in this instance.

In the film Quantumania, Jonathan Majors will also make an appearance as Kang the Conqueror. This is the first time that Majors has appeared in a film as the character in an Ant-Man installment.

Majors had a prior appearance in the first season of the Disney+ series Loki as the character He Who Remains, which was an alternate temporal version of the same character.

The much-anticipated addition of Bill Murray to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has at long last been confirmed. We are not yet aware of his role; however, we do know that he plays a villain, and Murray has described the character he would play as a “bad man.”

Since it has been established that Majors Kang will play the role of the main antagonist, it is possible that Murray's character could play a secondary or supporting role. Perhaps he will side with Kang, but it's also possible that he'll go against Lang on his own.

Murray, who is best known for his humorous appearances in iconic films such as Caddyshack and Ghostbusters, is stepping into a slightly unknown area by taking on the character of a villain.
