Why Creators thought of making American Horror Story?
Murphy and Falchuk started working on American Horror Story before their Fox show Glee started airing. Murphy set out to accomplish the polar opposite of what he had previously done, and so the series was born.
“I went from Nip/Tuck to Glee,” he explained, “so it seemed logical that I wanted to do something hard and dark, and I'd always liked the horror genre, as Brad had, so it was just a natural for me.”
Falchuk was fascinated by the notion of taking a fresh approach to the horror genre, noting that the series' primary objective was to terrify viewers. “You want them to be thrown off a little bit,” he explained.
The series' gloomy tone is based on Murphy's grandmother forcing him to watch the ABC soap serial Dark Shadows when he was younger in order to toughen him up.

Making of American Horror Story: Double Feature
The series got renewed for a tenth season on August 3, 2018, and will premiere in 2020. Season 10 was postponed until 2021, when production was halted owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was disclosed on May 26, 2020. Fo
Allowing the interruption, series co-creator Ryan Murphy told TheWrap that the delay may potentially affect the season's theme, as his original concept required filming during the summer months.
Murphy shared a promotional poster for the season on Instagram the next month, featuring a wide-open mouth with razor-sharp teeth and a hand tattooing “AHS 10” on the tongue.
