Alchemy Of Souls Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

During their time spent pretending they’re an “ordinary couple,” Jang Uk & Naksu meet with Master Lee. The wise magician proposes that the monster hunter & his partner marry him as a witness so that they can “put a stop” to their existing relationship.  As Jang Uk & Cho Yeong spend a tender moment atop the tree in Danhyanggok, Ho-gyeong says she isn't stopping the couple because they both helped safeguard Jinyowon.

After some time, Master Lee adds support to the theory that Jin Seol-ran was reborn as Bu-Yeon by suggesting that the priestess remained by the ice stone for 200 years because she knew it would be utilized in another kind of “great chaos.” After it is clear that Naksu's last “love letter” to Jang Uk would be her recall of how she felt when killing him, Master Lee expresses his hope that the couple's love will extend to Seol-ran.

The monster hunter is then shocked to get a call from Bu-spirit, Yeon's, who reveals to him the “inevitable” destruction of the world brought on by the firebird. It has been prophesied that Jang Uk is the only man who can put an end to the chaos, but he will have help from the true Bu-yeon, who has manipulated the darkness his light has cast. At the same time, the relatively feeble Jin Mu informs the Unanimous Assembly that there is no time for planning and that they must travel to Jinyowon “immediately” to destroy the firebird.

Then, the man the Crown Prince deceived, Jin Mu, who the Prince has a hard time believing has exchanged souls with Yun-o, arrives to greet him. The situation rapidly deteriorates for the prince when he learns that the king is on the side of the Gwanju and that he would be dispossessed of his Gold Plaque and therefore disqualified as heir to the kingdom. Next, Jin Mu storms into Jinyowon, claiming that he will zap Ho-vitality gyeong if he is kept outside.

To keep the relics inside the area protected when Jin Mu steals the fire bird's egg and brings Jinyowon to the verge of collapse, Ho-gyeong sends Cho-Yeon abroad to seek Songrim's assistance and enlists the aid of Maidservant Kim. The time comes when Park Jin shows up, but all he can do to help is lock the door of Jinyowon to stop any more artifacts from leaving.

With everything secure, Bu-Yeon is ready to reawaken the firebird and send it to the King's Star before Jang Uk destroys the relic in Lake Gyeongcheondaeho. The monster hunter uses an arrow to accomplish his goal, but the process isn't particularly smooth and results in some collateral damage. To everyone's relief, the firebird vanishes before Bu-Yeon collapses, and her soul is once again replaced with Naksu's.
