Previously, Jang Uk had approached Jin Ho-gyeong for assistance, but she had declined. He finally gets what he wants from her, but only after agreeing to send Bu-Yeon back to her as a condition. Although Bu-Yeon discovers Yul's letter, it is stolen by Lady Heo.

Jin Ho-gyeong, however, explains that the firebird can be used to expel the blood parasite from Yul's body. Park Jin is sent to the Seoho Fortress to reassure Yul's dad that his son is safe. Jang Uk & Go Won are warned not to argue in Jinyowon, the home of the firebird before they enter to save Yul & Go Won agrees to go with him.

After delivering Yul's letter to Park Jin, Lady Heo learns that he has already left & reads the letter, learning that Bu-Yeon is actually Naksu. Insightful Bu-Yeon learns that Jang Uk has pledged to return her to her mother. She gives her permission to leave. Jang Uk has not yet revealed his motivation for wanting her.

He instead claims that she is no longer useful to him. Bu-Yeon, angry & hurt, leaves him but avoids going straight to Jinyowon. Master Lee's plan to settle the dispute between Jang Uk & Go Won has finally been unveiled.

To make Go Won feel better about how things are going between Jang Uk & him, Jin Mu reveals to him that Jang Uk was born under the King's Star. He warns Go Won that Jang Uk is a threat because anyone else could easily take his place.

Since Yul's awakening, Bu-yeon has been staying at Sejukwon to provide care for him. About Bu-yeon being Naksu, Yul confronts Master Lee. But Master Lee tells him to forget about it, saying that Jin Ho-wish gyeong's has come true despite his best efforts.

Alchemy of Souls Part 2 Episode 7 Review

This episode drives the plot along at a considerably faster rate than previous ones have done. It is very clear that Jang Uk is coming closer to discovering the truth about what took place in Naksu.

We get a glimpse of just how far Jang Uk's authority & influence have pushed him in this episode. Never before has it been seen how much dread he generates, even in the king. He has always been considered to be unbeatable & the strongest man alive, but never before has it been seen how much fear he causes.

The fact that plot took even another unexpected turn when it was revealed that Naksu's soul was involved. It's starting to seem less like a twist & more like an addition to the plot that was driven by the writers' hesitation & confusion, which is a shame because it could have been really good.
