This year, A Wake Inn, a virtual reality horror game set in an art deco hotel, will be adapted on the PC.
A Wake Inn: Rebooked is a revamped version of the initial VR release, which was released in February 2021 and has been under development since then. According to Michal Napora, a developer at GamesRadar+, the team has been hard at work adapting the title for the PC platform.

He adds the following: “When creating games for virtual reality, the goal is to make the user feel lost in the world that they're in. One method of accomplishing this is to make the environment surrounding the player more interactive.”
VR Bros, a developer, is attempting to achieve this goal “Provide players with a comprehensive understanding of the tasks they must do.
In order to insert a cable into a socket, you must first pick up the cable, point it at the socket, and then perform the motion of inserting the cable into the socket (see illustration).
As opposed to simply auto-aiming and clicking-in automatically, doing the entire range of actions makes the task feel more ‘complete.' Our goal with the PC version was to incorporate some of the tiny design secrets that we learned while working on the VR experience.”
A Wake Inn: Rebooked Gameplay
A Wake Inn is a strange hotel in which a mannequin must learn to navigate its surroundings while using a “realistically-controlled” wheelchair to navigate its way around the halls.
VR Bros, on the other hand, are leaning into the horror overtones, populating the game's hotel with an army of live dolls and having a creepy voice follow you around wherever you go in the game.
A Wake Inn: Rebooked Release Date
Currently, there is no release date for A Wake Inn: Rebooked, but you may add it to your Steam wishlist right now, and you'll get another peek at the game on Thursday, August 26 during the Future Games Show at Gamescom sponsored by AMD. The game is currently in development.
