Interview Michigan Recruit Mustapha Muhammad

Mustapha Muhammad

It was announced six days ago that 4-star tight end recruit, Mustapha Muhammad, would put Michigan amongst his top five on where he’d be attending. Michigan, along with Clemson, Texas, LSU, and UCLA, have clearly left their mark on Muhammad.

Background

Mustapha Muhammad is from Missouri City, Texas and plays for Ridge Point High School. Coming in at 6’4 and 235 pounds, Muhammad has the skill set and body of an impactful tight end. According to 247sports.com, Mustapha Muhammad is the No. 5 TE recruit in the country and the No. 111 overall player in the class of 2018.

Interview

Mustapha Muhammad was gracious enough to answer a few questions about his experience and feelings about Michigan as a program and a school.

Q: Describe to me your [most recent] visit that took place at Michigan.

A: “Great fans, I was welcomed and the whole vibe made it feel like home.”

Q: What makes Michigan stand out over other schools?

A: “It’s amongst my top schools because of the combination of a solid business school and football program.

Q: How do you feel about Michigan’s coaching staff and how you’ll fit in their system?

A: “I feel that the coaching staff has an advantage because it has lot of NFL experience. The Tight End position has shown signs of promise in Harbaugh’s Pro Style system.”

Q: “Who do you try and emulate your style of play by and why?”

A: “O.J. Howard, Jake Butt, and Jason Witten to name a few. They are elite tight ends and are where I am tying to be.”

Mustapha Muhammad is going to be an immediate impact wherever he chooses to attend. When asked if he had a decision date in mind, Muhammad replied, “National Signing Day.” National Signing Day is set for Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

Clearly a high priority for Michigan, Mustapha Muhammad has plenty of time to make a decision. Michigan Sports Zone would like to thank Mustapha Muhammad for taking the time to answer a few questions with us. We wish him the best of luck on his decision and his football career. We hope to see Muhammad representing the Maize and Blue very, very soon.
