So, since there hasn't been a single update about the release date or anything else, fans are eagerly waiting for updates because the story is so interesting. The series from 1923 came after this one from 1883, and this one would come before Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone.
On December 19, 2021, the first season of 1883 began. On February 27, 2022, the last episode aired. Each episode lasted between 44 and 67 minutes, and there were ten episodes in the first season.
1883 Season 2: Plot Speculation
The second season of 1883 will be about a real historical figure, Bass Reeves, instead of continuing the story of the made-up Dutton family. Reeves was a famous lawman and the first Black deputy of the U.S. Marshals.
He spoke several Native American languages and is said to have caught and killed more than 3,000 criminals without ever getting seriously hurt. People say that The Lone Ranger was based on him. In 1883, the Bass Before it was taken over by Yellowstone, Reeves Story was made by David Oyelowo and his wife, Jessica Oyelowo.
It's not clear yet if Reeves will interact with any of the Dutton family members, like James (Tim McGraw) or Margaret (Faith Hill), but it seems unlikely since the story was written without any reference to Yellowstone.
1883 Season 2: Cast Speculation
1883: The Bass Reeves Story will star David Oyelowo more than anyone else. He will play the main character in the story. Cole Hauser will also play Rip Wheeler again in the second season of 1883. He played the character in the main Yellowstone timeline.
The specifics of his role are, however, being kept secret. For now, that's all we know about the cast of 1883 season 2, which is sad, but we're sure more actors will be added in time, probably after 1923.
